[INCOMPLETE NOTES] The Homewood Parks and Recreation board met at 5:30 p.m. in Room 100, Community Center, for its regular monthly meeting. The board discussed the status of several projects, passed a resolution to purchase a 15-seat van and a truck for $52,500 combined; and voted to award the construction management contract for the new recreation center to B. L. Harbert. Voting was unanimous on all measures. Also of note:
- Friday Night Flicks has been canceled for the following summer.
- Ribbon cutting for the Patriot Park is set for Friday, Nov. 16. (Phase II is complete except for two pavilions and benches, to be added in January.)
- The Woodland Park bathroom will be removed.
- Youth baseball recorded 450 participants @ $50 per person=$7,000 income, a 6 % increase over last season.
