[FROM CITY STAFF NOTES] In a half-hour meeting, the planning commission unanimously approved two commercial development plans, an amended final plan to the Mazer’s property on Green Spring Highway, and a final plan for a shopping center expansion on West Valley Avenue.

Approved: Following a public hearing in which no one spoke, the commission approved a final development plan for the shopping center expansion at 243 West Valley Avenue by applicant Pro-Tech Metals (owner Yi Lu Dong). This case had been presented in February.
Approved: Following a public hearing in which no one spoke, the commission approved an amended final plan for the old Mazer’s property at 816 Green Springs Highway. The owner/applicant Dunn Real Estate is tearing down the north addition to the main building in order to add parking, plus other minor changes. Pep Boys is still on board as the center’s first tenant, but no other retailers have signed for the remaining retail space. One resident attended the meeting from the Mazer’s neighborhood to learn more about the redevelopment, but didn’t speak on record in the hearing.
